CCO's Youth Programs

Cross Country Ontario supports Youth Development programs to attract children to the sport of cross-country skiing. These programs are based on Cross Country Canada's Skill Development Program for Children, and include:

More detail on CCC's Youth Programs can be found on the Cross Country Canada youth page, which can be linked from the menu on the left.

Cross Country Ontario also supports the Challenge Program, for skiers twelve years of age and over whose interests may not lead to competitive skiing (racing).

Many skiers graduate from the youth programs into competitive programs (racing) at about twelve years. These activities are described in our High Performance page. In support of this transition, Cross Country Ontario organizes an annual Ontario Midget Championship, as well as the bi-annual Ontario Winter Games. Cross Country Ontario's Youth Programs are offered by the clubs listed under Clubs with Youth Programs from the menu on the left.

Procedures for clubs to purchase Materials for Youth programs can be found under the Materials Ordering on the menu on the left.

If you require more information on Youth Program opportunities, please feel free to contact one of the District Youth Chairs, who are listed under Youth Contacts in the menu on the left.
