Memorial Plaque for Heinz Niederhauser

The Silver Spoon Committee in Deep River recently raised funds to purchase a tree in memory of Heinz Niederhauser, who was a strong supporter of the race, and won his category many times. As the National Capital Division coach and later the Ontario Team coach, Heinz played a key role in developing many of Deep River's best racers in the 1980s. Several of these racers went on to win Provincial and National titles, and to represent Canada internationally.

The pictures below are of a plaque presentation in the Deep River Four Seasons Conservancy Forest. In this forest, which includes some of the Silver Spoon trails, trees can be purchased in the name of a loved one. Funds are used to ensure that the forest remains available for the enjoyment of all.
