CCO Organization

The CCO Board includes the four District Chairs with other Directors for High Performance, Coaching Development, Youth Programs, Technical and Officials Development, a Treasurer and the Chairperson. The Board meets monthly by telephone conference and an Annual General Meeting is held in May of each year. The Board covers corporate issues but is also a quite involved in operational activities.

Major roles for the Board, in addition to overseeing CCO's activities in direct support of Districts and Clubs, are liaison with Cross Country Canada (CCC), and with our major funding organization, Ontario's Ministry of Health Promotion. Since Spring 2006, CCO has been recognized by Ontario as the Provincial Sport Organization for cross country skiing.

With respect to CCC, CCO is considered a "voting member" of CCC and a representative of CCO attends the CCC Annual General Meeting.

With respect to Ontario's Ministry of Health Promotion, CCO applies for annual funding to support our activities, and is accountable for how this funding is spent.
